Emirates News Agency – Our beach soccer team will face Oman tomorrow in the World Games qualifiers.

JITDAH, May 24 / WAM / Tomorrow, our national beach soccer team faces its brother Oman while Iran meets Thailand in the quarter-finals of the Asian qualifiers for the World Beach Games in its second edition. Bali Island, Indonesia, in August 2023.

The six teams from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Iran, Oman and Thailand will participate in the qualifiers to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from May 25 to 27.

The two winners of tomorrow’s matches will qualify for the semi-finals, where they will face “direct qualifiers for this round” Saudi Arabia and Japan on Friday.

The final will be held on Saturday, with the winner and loser of the match qualifying for the World Beach Games starting next August, along with host country Indonesia.

Our national team finished fourth in the 2023 AFC Beach Soccer Championship in Pattaya, Thailand last March, followed by participation in the Arab Beach Soccer Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this May. Three straight wins put him top of Group C with 9 points in the quarter-finals.

Al-Shadiyya was close to qualifying for the quarter-finals, had the match against its Omani brothers not lost, their original rounds ended with points (4-4) and the Oman team won. Fifth goal in extra half (winning goal).
