Rabat, June 22, WAM/ Emirates Media Council Secretary General Mohammed Saeed Al Shehi led the UAE delegation to the 53rd session of the Arab Council of Information Ministers held today in Rabat, the Moroccan capital. .
In his State of the State address during the meeting of the Arab Council of Ministers, Al-Shehi affirmed that the UAE continues to promote the message of peace and cooperation for the people of the region to achieve prosperity and that it has what it takes to develop the initiative. His Excellency added: “The importance of the media sector has changed from being a tool for communication and delivery of information, to becoming an influential soft power that crystallizes public opinion and shapes its interests, and has become an industry that effectively contributes to the economy. The UAE recognized the importance of the media sector early on and established special media zones twenty years ago, providing incentives and an investment environment that guarantees the success of companies. Business.”
His Excellency Mohammed Al-Shehi stressed the need to explore the opportunities offered by emerging media technologies and invest in their solutions to serve the Arab media sector in light of recent digital developments and global changes. Aiming at positive interactions, studying the impact of artificial intelligence applications in various sectors including the media sector, using these techniques safely and using the capabilities of the technology to increase the effectiveness of the media sector.
The Secretary-General of the Emirates Media Council praised the progress made on the Arab Media Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2030, reiterating the UAE’s support for this ambitious plan to promote and develop collective Arab media work to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the Arab people.
