Emirates News Agency – Khaled Al Qasimi praised the achievements of Sharjah Chess Club players in the UAE Under-20 Individual Championship.

Sharjah, September 23 / WAM / Sheikh Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, has extended his warm greetings and blessings to Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. In the UAE Individual Chess Championship for U20, the club’s players won the first three places, including the second place in the men’s category.

Sheikh Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi confirmed in his statement that the Sharjah Chess Club achieved these achievements with the grace of God and the attention and guidance of the Ruler of Sharjah. The club and its players, and the management of the club, appreciated the efforts of its players and administrative and technical staff.

Clubman, Saeed Sultan Al-Tahar won the UAE Youth U-20 Championship gold medal and title with a total of six points from seven rounds, while Clubman Yahya Shuaib Al-Khaf finished second. The silver medal for the event was five and a half points, with player Hamad Badr Hover taking third place and bronze by five points in seven rounds.

At the UAE Men’s Championship, the club’s player Salem Abdel Rahim Boyoun collected five points in eight rounds to finish second and the silver medal.

Sharjah Cultural Chess Club Secretary General Waheeb Jaber Al Jaroni affirmed the club’s commitment to training programs to raise the standard of its players in an effort to achieve results that satisfy ambitions.
