DUBAI, 9th August, 2020 (WAM) — Dubai Police’s Empowerment Council and Resolute Attitude Initiative participated in the “Summer Caravan” activities of the Summer Center for Humanitarian Services in Sharjah as part of Dubai Police. Efforts by the General Command to support vulnerable populations and develop ways to integrate them into society.
Major Abdullah Hamad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Council for Empowerment of Assured People in the Dubai Police, confirmed that efforts to empower empowered individuals are ongoing. Especially during the summer holidays, it is a suitable opportunity to organize events and training and educational courses, and workshops, in collaboration with internal and external partners, to ensure the improvement of their quality of life.
In turn, Fathima Buhajir, coordinator of the Positive Spirit Initiative, said that since the initiative was launched in 2017, it has targeted all sections of the society, including the determined people, to ensure their inclusion in various aspects of society, sports, etc. , culture and others, based on our sense of social responsibility, and in support of joint efforts in integrating the values of tolerance and coexistence among different groups.
It is noteworthy that Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services has committed to organize effective summer centers for determined students in its track. Their disability is not a barrier to their giving and participation, and to increase their self-confidence and dedication to work in a way that is useful and beneficial to them in their spare time.
In this participation, training classes were organized in Para Taekwondo by expert Abdul Quds Ishaq, targeting 68 committed individuals with mild and moderate disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and hearing impairment.
