Tokyo, June 12, WAM/ Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi as part of his working visit to Tokyo.
During the meeting, they discussed friendship and ways to enhance joint cooperation in many fields including economy, trade, industry and investment within the framework of the strategic partnership between the UAE and Japan.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Saeed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Yoshimasa Hayashi emphasized the depth of cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
The two ministers discussed several files of common concern, including the UAE’s preparations for hosting the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to this year’s United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP28” at the Dubai Expo. city.
They reviewed joint cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations and discussed regional and global developments and exchanged views on them.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized during the meeting that the UAE has deep and solid ties with Japan, and that the leaderships and governments of both countries are keen to continue to strengthen and develop them. This is included in the strategic partnership agreement document between the two countries in September 2022. It reflects the efforts and aspirations of both countries to integrate a unique model of development cooperation in various fields.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of State for Economic and Commercial Affairs Saeed Al-Hajri, Assistant Minister of State for Science and Advanced Technology Imran Sharaf and Assistant Minister of State for Health Affairs Dr. Maha Barakat. and HE Shihab Ahmed Al-Fahim, UAE Ambassador to Japan.
