DuckDuckGo’s new tool prevents apps from tracking Android users

DuckDuckGo, the owner of the well-known search engine by its name, has released a new tool aimed at preventing applications from tracking users of the Android phone operating system, and the company hopes to provide a tool called “App Tracking Protection”. More protection from applications that use third-party tracking tools.

This feature is comparable to Apple’s app tracking transparency feature, which gives users the option to opt out of in-app data tracking. However, DuckDuckGo has not been released as part of an update for all Android phones, nor is it a separate download. Instead, it’s built into the privacy-centric DuckDuckGo browser application, and it works across the user’s device.

The company said in a blog post that the tool will prevent selective trackers from being used by third-party companies in other applications. When you enable Apps Tracking Security, it runs in the background while the phone is in use, and prevents the tool from detecting and retrieving information when the application sends data to a third-party tracker.

DuckDuckGo has confirmed that it will continue to work on identifying and protecting new trackers, which will help prevent data from appearing on any new trackers. Users can view applications that attempt to infringe on their privacy and retrieve their data in real time, as well as where the data has gone.
