The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy launched the fifth session of the “Emirates Energy Award” 2023-2025, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. This was announced by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai and Chairman of the Emirates Energy Award, during the proceedings of the ninth session of the World Green Economy Summit at the Jumeirah Mina e Salam Hotel in Dubai.
Al Tayer said: “I am delighted to welcome you to launch the fifth session of the Emirates Energy Award 2023-2025, organized by the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai under the theme (Promoting Carbon Neutrality). This new motto is in line with the vision of the wise leadership of the Head of State, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister. He added: The fifth session of the award is of special significance, launched within the proceedings of the ninth session of the World Green Economy Summit, a day ahead of the ongoing year and 28th session in the United Arab Emirates. The Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP28 is being hosted by the UAE at Expo City Dubai.
Al Tayer added: “The Emirates Energy Award, established 11 years ago, has received widespread global attention from professionals in the renewable and clean energy sectors. Growth supported by alternative energy technologies and solutions to rationalize our natural resources, which help accelerate the pace of transition to a greener and more sustainable economy. The four rounds of the award attracted 615 participants from 29 countries around the world, and 118 winners were honored in its 10 categories. During the previous sessions, we observed the excellence of young participants who presented innovative solutions for environmentally friendly green products and technologies to ensure the sustainability of energy resources to achieve sustainable development.

Main objectives
The award includes 10 categories, focusing on the main objectives: creativity, innovation, energy efficiency, promoting the use of renewable energy compared to other resources and the economic, social and environmental impact of rationalizing energy consumption.
10 categories include Energy Efficiency Award for Public Sector, Energy Efficiency Award for Private Sector, Large Energy Projects Award, Small Energy Projects Award, Award for Integrated Solar to Building Projects (above 500 kW), and Award for Integrated Solar to Building Projects (less than 500 kW) Education and Skills Development Award, Applied Research and Product Development Award and Young Innovators Award.
