“Dubai Opera” .. international stories woven with creative flair

With unique international performances inspired by Dubai Opera in the coming years, the city’s visitors will live unforgettable moments of joy, enjoy the most beautiful art concerts and theater performances presented by the creative team, and tell the stories of world cultures interwoven with the spirit of creativity. Dubai audiences will have a date with Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece “Butterfly”, which will be screened on 12th and 13th September.

The first performances of the opera “Butterfly” by Miklós Gabor Kereny of the Hungarian State Opera began in 1904, and it gradually achieved international success for its exploration of timeless movement themes.

It takes place in Nagasaki, Japan, where we trace its details through a love affair bound by two people from two different cultures.

With “Butterfly”, we get to know Lt. Pinkerton of the US Navy, who marries a Japanese girl called Butterfly Susio, and Dubai audiences will experience an atmosphere full of suspense and excitement with “Butterfly”.

Artist, Gilberto Gil, will be celebrating a spectacular evening at the Dubai Opera Theater on September 29, and Dubai audiences will be treated to a date with his most popular songs. On 26th October, violinist David Garrett will present an inspiring artistic evening as he accompanies Dubai Opera audiences on a musical journey with his new album “ICONIC”. Garrett is known for his striking performances and music that blends classical with contemporary.

Singer Kenny Garrett will perform a concert at Dubai Opera next October 28 as he delivers captivating songs from his latest album “Voices from the Ancestors”, which showcases Garrett’s creativity and brilliance. On 3rd, 4th and 5th November, Dubai Opera will present “Macbeth”, a tragic drama that begins his journey in search of strength and salvation, as the audience will experience events full of excitement and suspense.

On November 11, Dubai Opera audiences will enjoy a concert by Ali Sethi, whose warm voice and ability to blend classical and contemporary Pakistani music will take the audience on a musical journey with him that crosses borders and resonates in the heart.

Next December 12, Dubai Opera will witness an exceptional performance by the Grammy Award-winning Dinariwen Band from Mali, blending traditional African musical rhythms with lively melodies known throughout the Sahara desert.

Next December 21, Dubai Opera hosts a performance by singer Matteo Bocelli, son of Andrea Bocelli, who will transform the stage into a dazzling painting that combines classic and contemporary songs, where the audience will live in an atmosphere of entertainment and joy.
