The Saudi Al-Nasser club ended the controversy over the fate of French coach Rudy Garcia, who succeeded in hiring him to lead the team in the coming season.
Rudy Garcia’s name has been linked with a move to Egypt’s al-Ahly in the future, following in the footsteps of South Africa’s Pitcho Musemani, who left the team in June.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh published pictures of Musli al-Muammar, the leader of the Al-Nasser Club, and French coach Rudy Garcia at a hotel in the French capital, Paris.
Al-Nasser Details of Rudy Garcia’s Agreement with Saudi Arabia
After signing a two-season contract, the newspaper reported that Rudy Garcia will be al-Nasr’s new coach in Saudi Arabia in the near future.
The newspaper points out that the Al-Alameh administration has set aside $ 5.8 million a year in salary for the French coach and his assistant staff.
Rudy Garcia and Al-Ahly of Egypt
Garcia, 58, is one of Egypt’s options for al-Ahly, following in the footsteps of South African coach Pitcho Mossimane.
Musemani resigned from the leadership of al-Ahly after 20 months, and by mutual consent decided to terminate the contract, which was extended until the summer of 2024.
Rudy Garcia has been preparing for his first experience on the Arab field and his second experience outside of France, having coached Italian Roma between 2013 and 2016.
During his coaching career, Garcia went on to run among many French clubs, most notably Saint-Etienne, Lille, Olympique Marseille and finally Olympique Lyonnais.
Rudy Garcia is expected to take over from Argentina’s Miguel Angel Rosso, whose contract with al-Nasser Saudi Arabia expires at the end of the current season.
