Dell announces that the XPS 13 Plus is bold It debuted at CES 2022 Available for purchase now. It starts at $ 1,299, and although Dell did not specify the exact specifications for this configuration, you will find the very specifications listed in the specs sheet that the company shares. It has a 13.4-inch 1920 x 1200 16:10 display with 500 nits, Intel 12th General Core i5-1240P processor (28W, 12-core, 4.4GHz boost), 8GB RAM20 clock and 8GB 256GB SSD.
Each model has a 60W USB-C AC adapter and comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports (but no headphone jack), a Windows Hello 720p webcam and a built-in fingerprint reader on the power button.
As we mentioned again at CES, the new version of the XPS 13 has a futuristic design than the standard Dell model. The most notable differences include the order of the backlight function keys, such as the touch bar, and the keyboard that fits in the chassis. Finally, there is the invisible new trackpad, but it takes up real estate (if not a little bigger) in the middle of the glass-encrusted wrist rest. Instead of actually clicking, the trackpad hardware simulates clicking with haptic feedback like the latest Apple laptops.
Although Dell does not share pricing information for other configurations, the XPS 13 Plus can be upgraded to a 1080p touchscreen (not the default) or 4K touchscreen when purchased. The 3.5K (3456 x 2160) Gorilla Glass coated OLED touchscreen with 100% DCI-P3 color range coverage is the best display option.
In terms of processing power, Dell has a 12th generation Intel Core i7-1280P with 14 cores, plus up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. Oh, and one last thing: an upgraded version of the XPS 13 Plus will be shipped with Ubuntu 20.04 and will cost $ 1,249.99.
We look forward to testing the XPS 13 Plus soon. As my colleague Monica Sen wrote, In its experience in January, we are cautiously confident that all of these aesthetic changes will not prevent us from being a good machine. But wait for the full review to find out.
