Notify National Center for Children’s Culture He announced the establishment of a workshop to teach “the art of cinematography”, headed by writer Muhammad Nasef. This workshop aims to introduce the youth and children to screenwriting and its techniques, develop their skills in this field. Developing skills and creative thinking among children and young people, and developing self-confidence and the ability to express personal ideas and stories.
This workshop is delivered by screenwriter and author Walid Kamal who is an experienced in this field and has won many awards in writing. He gave successful series to major stars including Mohamed Henedy, Hend Sabri, Dounia Samir Khanem, Ashraf Abdel Baky and the heroes of the Egyptian theater. He presented children’s animated series on Egyptian television and plays in state theaters such as the National Children’s Theater, the General Commission for Palaces of Culture, and the National Center for Children’s Culture. In 2005, he won the first prize in the Arab world for children’s writing from the Emirates Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Awards. He co-wrote the popular children’s show “Alam Simsim”.
The workshop is aimed at children (12-18) and youth (19-25) at the center’s headquarters in Al-Haram, and online, with 8 intensive lectures per month.
It is a theoretical and practical workshop where participants learn the art of screenwriting in general and its stages are a different technique from writing a story, novel or play. A screenplay (French and American), with an explanation of the types of “genre” films, followed by practical training on the stages of screenwriting, starting with idea, plot, dramatic treatment, beginning, middle, and ending, conflict, climax, and conclusion, how to profile characters and dialogue. Writing, dividing chapters and scenes, scenes, scenes and dialogue and dividing the scene into main parts: introduction, main point, rise, climax and fall, resolution and conclusion. , reviewing the importance of the first 10 minutes of the film, using the “hook” trick or flash event, analyzing examples of popular films, writing and how to develop a character and creating complex, multi-dimensional characters, “its role in the development of the story, plot points or plot ” explains the concept. Scenes and writing techniques, script writing skills, importance of dramatic continuity and writing it and writing short script clips.
