The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce reported a significant increase in Brazil’s exports to the Arab world in the first ten months of the year, up 9.35% to $15.767 billion compared to $14.419 billion in the same period last year. The value of Brazil’s imports from the Arab region reached 8.973 billion dollars in the first ten months of this year.
The volume of Brazilian exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was $2.654 billion, while the total volume of Brazilian exports to the United Arab Emirates was $2.543 billion. As for the Arab Republic of Egypt’s exports to Brazil, they were $1.889 billion, a significant increase over the same period last year. Brazil’s exports to the State of Qatar were $266 million, while its exports to the State of Kuwait reached $220 million.
Saudi Arabia tops the list of the largest Arab exporters to Brazil with $2.937 billion, followed by the UAE with $998 million. Brazil’s imports from the State of Qatar were $605 million, while its imports from the Arab Republic of Egypt were $439 million. Brazil’s imports from the state of Kuwait increased significantly to $323 million.
Osmar Shehba, president of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said: Brazil’s exports and imports have increased significantly in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year, reflecting the strong and growing trade relations between Brazil and Brazil. These positive trade indicators embody our commitment to developing strong bilateral relations between Brazil and Arab countries.”
According to a report released by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, meat and poultry exports from Brazil to the Arab countries achieved a strong performance in the period from January to October 2023, as beef exports from Brazil to Arab countries amounted to 866.68 million dollars. The UAE tops the list of largest importers with a value of $243.69 million. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Lebanon showed the highest demand for Brazilian beef, with Egypt contributing $216.25 million, Saudi Arabia $174.74 million, Libya $59.52 million, and Lebanon $46.41 million.
In addition, poultry exports saw a significant increase, registering $2.755 billion, of which the UAE’s imports accounted for $742.93 million, topping the list of importing countries, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a total of $699.78 million. Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt recorded a significant increase in poultry imports from Brazil, valued at $180.49 million, $133.84 million and $112.48 million respectively.
The significant increase in exports and imports between Brazil and Arab countries indicates a growing economic alliance between the two sides, and confirms the two sides’ greater flexibility and adaptability in facing increasing global challenges.
