The club plans to officially renew the player’s contract for the next two seasons, with the contract running until 2024.
Dembele’s contract expired last June, amid uncertainty over a clause, speculation over the possibility of renewing it or leaving the club, and press reports about French pressure on his financial demands to agree to a contract extension, including indicating his reluctance to stay.
After falling off the podium last year, Barcelona will be looking to strengthen their squad with strong options and new players to get back on track and win the championship.
