Barcelona receive good news from UEFA ahead of the new season
The management of Spanish club Barcelona, led by president Juan Laborda, received good news from the European Football Association on Friday after some international media spoke of UEFA’s intention not to allow the Catalan team to participate. Next season in the Champions League.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, on Friday, the European football association “UEFA” officially notified FC Barcelona to allow coach Xavi Hernandez’s team to participate in the Champions League for the 2023/2024 season.

He explained that Barcelona had been threatened with exclusion from next season’s Champions League because of the Negrera case, after Spanish media confirmed that the Catalan team’s previous management paid 1.4 million euros to a company owned by Jose Maria. Enriquez Negrera, Vice President of the Board of Arbitrators, for the period between 2018 and 2021.
It also concluded that Barcelona president Joan Laborda continued to insist that previous administrations pay this money to provide reports and advice to the Catalan team regarding referees in Spanish football league matches.
