Arsenal announced on Tuesday that Gabonese international striker Pierre-Emerick Abamayang had removed the captain’s armor for disciplinary reasons.
Sharjah 24 – Azad Khalil:
Arsenal Football Club have removed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s captain’s armor and removed him from the Arsenal squad for tomorrow’s match against West Ham in the English Premier League.
Abameyang was left out of Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Southampton in the Premier League last Saturday after coach Michael Arteta described them as “disciplined”. As I mentioned, the player returned late from the overseas trip. British news agency “PA Media”.
Also on Tuesday Arsenal announced that Gabonese striker Aubameyang will no longer wear the captain’s armor and will miss the match against West Ham.
Arsenal said in a statement: “Following his latest disciplinary action last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be our club captain and will not be in the squad for tomorrow’s match against West Ham United.
He added: “We expect all our players, especially our captains, to abide by the rules and standards we have set and we all agree. Our focus is fully on tomorrow’s match.”
Since he was on the bench for the Derby match against Tottenham last March, it should be noted that this is not Abameyang’s first violation after being described as violating team ethics before the match.
