The coach of the Saudi national football team, Frenchman Herv Renard, has announced that “The Greens” will not participate in the first round of the Arab Cup to be held in Qatar until November 30.
The Arab Cup is back after a gap of more than nine years, with the new edition taking place in Qatar for the first time under the umbrella of the international federation “FIFA” and will continue until December 18.
“We will not be part of the first team in the Arab Cup,” Renard told a news conference yesterday. We have put together a team of players born in 1999 and above to take part in the Arab Cup, and Laurent Bonadi will be the coach.
He continued, “I wanted to play the role of supervisor to closely monitor the players participating in the Arab Cup and see their professional potential, and I did that when the Moroccan national team participated in the African Cup of Nations.”
“We will play to win the Arab Cup and I am responsible for the decision to play for the reserve team,” he said.
