Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti hailed his side’s 1-3 win over Almeria on Saturday evening in the second round of the Spanish Football League.
Almeria went ahead through Sergio Arribaz in the third minute, but England’s Jude Bellingham equalized for Real in the 19th minute.
Bellingham added his and his team’s second goal in the 60th minute before contributing to Brazilian teammate Vinicius Jr.’s third goal in the 73rd minute.
Real Madrid increased their score to six points in the standings, while Almeria finished in twentieth and last place with no points draw.
Ancelotti praised his new English star Bellingham, saying of him, “Bellingham has matured and his personality has helped him adapt, as well as he played three years in Germany. That’s why he adapted well to the Spanish league and to us. The style. It’s very good.”
He added, “I was surprised by the first counter-attack, it was correct, the situation could have been handled better, but you have to evaluate the ability of the opposition’s attacking line. They played well and scored a goal. . We didn’t lose control, the team got into the game a little bit, we created many chances. Got it and moved on.” It’s easy, no fixed positions. It confuses the opposition on the defensive side and we have a lot of variety. That allows us to get opportunities.”
He pointed out, “At the moment, there is no fixed plan. We started the match with a block in defence, and when Modric and Kamavinga came in, we played with two lines of four players to be comfortable at the defensive level. It doesn’t allow you to control both sides very well, but at the attacking level this We have many options in the system”.
