Thanks for reading the news about a life threatening event on earth
Aden – Yasmin El Tohami – Astronomers have warned that the sun is entering a period of “catastrophic dormancy”, which will prevent it and enter the lowest phase of solar power, which can cause frosty weather and earthquakes.
According to the British newspaper, The Sun, experts believe that we are on the verge of entering a deep period of sunlight where sunspots almost disappear.
“The sun has at least already occurred, it’s deep,” said astronomer Tony Phillips. “The Sun’s magnetic field is weakened, allowing for more cosmic rays in the solar system.”
“Excessive cosmic rays pose a health hazard to astronauts and polar air travelers, causing electrochemical damage to the Earth’s upper atmosphere, and may help cause lightning.”
NASA scientists fear a recurrence of the “Tilton Minimum” event that occurred between 1790 and 1830, which led to severe cold, crop loss, famine and powerful volcanic eruptions.
Temperatures have dropped to 2 degrees Celsius over a 20-year period, which has devastated global food production.
On April 10, 1815, Mount Tambora in Indonesia erupted, the second largest volcanic eruption in 2,000 years, killing at least 71,000 people and leading to what became known as the Summer in 1816, with snow falling in July.
So far this year, 76 percent of the sun is “empty” without sunspots, up from only once when it was 77 percent empty during the space age last year.
A previous study revealed that although the sun is the most important source of energy for life on Earth, it has “little sleep” compared to other stars in the universe.
Astronomers at the Max Planck Institute in Germany have compared the Sun to hundreds of identical stars.
Results show that the Sun is 5 times weaker than other stars.
Alexander Shapiro of the Max Planck Institute said: “We were amazed that most stars, like the Sun, are much more active than the Sun.
Researchers say it is unclear whether the Sun has been “passing through a quiet period” for 9,000 years or less bright than other similar stars.
