(AFP) – The Pokemon Company has announced that it will launch “Pokemon Sleep” in most parts of the world in the summer of 2023, focusing on a more relaxing activity than its previous game “Pokemon Go” sleep.
“Turn your sleep into entertainment,” the company said in a statement Monday evening.

Promotional clips for the new game indicate that it combines sleep tracking apps on smartphones and games.

“The adventure takes place on a small island where the player will be in charge of investigating the ways Pokemon characters use to sleep,” the company added, adding, “The player will control Snorlax, the island’s resident character. And Neroli, a professor who studies Pokemon sleep patterns.”

“The more times a player sleeps, the more points they get in the morning, and the more Pokémon appear around Snorlax,” he added.

Pokemon fans will have the opportunity to purchase the “Pokemon Go Plus,” a gadget that takes the shape of a Pokemon ball and the user of the game can place it next to their pillow.

The gadget emits Pikachu’s voice saying “cute phrases” when waking up or going to sleep.

Created by the company and used by millions, Pokemon Go has become a global phenomenon.

The free-to-play game uses geolocation, graphics, and cameras to place cartoon characters in real locations, and players must capture them.

However, users of the game have been accused of causing traffic accidents and breaking rules while roaming the streets on their phones.

Pokemon has been a worldwide hit since its launch in 1996 as a video game for Nintendo’s Game Boy.
