The lawyer for Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey has said he “absolutely” denies allegations of sexual harassment against his client, who appeared in British court on Thursday to face charges almost 20 years ago.
Four charges have been filed alleging sexual harassment by touching Spacey. Wearing glasses and a light blue jacket, Spacey arrived with his legal team for the first hearing in Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London.
Police say the alleged attacks took place between March 2005 and April 2013, four in London and one in Gloucestershire, west England. The attacks targeted a man now in his forties and two men in their thirties.
Spacey was a big Hollywood star at one point, but has had a mostly low profile since being accused of sexual abuse almost five years ago.
The 62-year-old won the Academy Award for Best Actor for “American Beauty” and the Best Supporting Actor Award for “The Usual Suspects”.
He was expelled from the TV series “House of Cards” and was expelled from the movie “All the Money in the World” following allegations of sexual misconduct.
