A scientific surprise.. The discovery of ghosts around the Milky Way

Scientists reveal a new and different picture of the Milky Way; It contains invisible “ghost particles” that have never been discovered, and a new image of the Milky Way shows the particles around us on a larger scale, but they usually shoot straight through Earth. All, but through the new study they discovered ghost particles.

Using thousands of sensors buried deep within a cubic kilometer of ice, linked together, scientists were able to detect these particles. Even with this sophisticated equipment, progress in neutrino vision required the extensive development of machine learning algorithms capable of sorting out neutrinos. Countless other particles fly down to Earth.

This means that researchers are finally able to see our galaxy in a new way – not by using light as before, but by seeing the real object as it flies through the universe.

Scientists discovered that the glow of neutrinos from the universe was so bright that it caused the Milky Way to shine in a new and different way than before.

“What’s interesting is that, unlike light of any wavelength, neutrinos do better in the Universe than nearby sources in the Milky Way,” said Francis Halson, a University of Wisconsin physicist and lead author of the space study.

The results of that study

Scientists hope these discoveries will open up new ways of looking at the universe and uncovering its mysteries. Not much is known about neutrinos yet, but they could be used as a way to “open some new windows on the Milky Way to discover them.”

On the other hand, Drexel University physics professor Naoko Kurahashi-Nelson said: “Observing the Milky Way for the first time using particles instead of light is a big step forward. With the development of neutrino astronomy, we will have a new. lens through which to observe the universe.”

The results are reported in a new paper titled “Observing High-Energy Neutrinos from the Interstellar Level” published in the American journal Science.
