A Jordanian doctor removes a healthy kidney to replace a damaged one and tests for “health.”

In a strange and rare incident in Jordan, a Jordanian doctor removed a “healthy” kidney instead of a kidney that needed to be removed due to atrophy and only 10% of its work, prompting Jordanian health authorities to call for the opening. The story of the patient’s family

The patient’s parents are still in shock as to what happened to their daughter. Khaled Al-Haywat, the brother of the patient who suffered from the medical error, told Al-Arabiya.net that his sister went to Sarqa State Hospital two months ago, where she was diagnosed with atrophy. Her kidneys, she was working at less than 10%, so the doctors decided to remove them.

The doctor who operated on her on Monday removed her healthy kidney in a medical error, prompting her sister to enter intensive care.

The patient’s brother held the Jordanian Minister of Health, Dr. Firaz Al-Hawari, responsible for what had happened, and requested that he donate a kidney to his sister.

Legal action

For his part, Sarqa Public Prosecutor Judge Ayman Al-Masalha decided to arrest the doctor who removed the healthy kidney to replace the damaged one for 14 days pending investigation.

The reconciliation assigned the main accused doctor the crime of amputating an organ, while he decided to let the other two doctors go without arrest.

According to a medical source, the doctors who supervised the operation discovered their medical error an hour after the operation, the general condition of the patient was very critical because he was alive with one kidney, which was damaged and planned to be removed.

For their part, members of the House of Representatives of Sarqa Governorate, led by Al-Nawaf Al-Qawaldeh and Representative Muhammad Musa Al-Khwairi, requested the patient’s family to “acknowledge the incident”. A well-known clan practice in Jordan is to disperse their large gatherings in front of the hospital after an incident, and until investigations into the incident are complete.

On Monday evening, security services strengthened their presence in front of the New Sarkha Government Hospital after several sick patients gathered.
