A citizen finds a strange bird and calls competent authorities

The Fujairah Environment Authority received a phone call from a citizen who said there was a strange bird near his farm. The authority later discovered that it was a rare bird in the country and that it was a type of “European chart”.

With the cooperation of a citizen, the authority said it was able to locate the “European sapphire” bird after the citizen discovered it near his farm. Check its health status and record the required measurements.

The authority put the Commission’s identification bracelet on it to prove that it was registered in the Emirate of Fujairah if it was found and then recorded elsewhere by certain authorities as the name of the bird discovered by the citizen. The “European flora” is a migratory bird that masters camouflage in a way that is large, active at night and rarely seen, and can sleep among the grass during the day, departing when anyone approaches it. Change its location due to the sense of danger, its shape is similar to the shape of a crow or hawk, but its feathers are indistinct, showing it in the form of dead tree leaves.

The Commission also invited community members to liaise with the Authority’s communication channels in case any strange or unusual species of birds or animals are found to help protect these beautiful creatures that visit the Emirate during its annual migration.
