A blog that poisons itself to increase its audience

In her search for a larger audience, Ms. A blogger called Chang decided to promote the benefits of agave and ended up poisoning himself in a hospital emergency room.

A social media blogger who calls herself “Mrs. Shang” was poisoned when she ate what she thought was a healthy cactus.

Chang was recording a segment on the plant’s health benefits when he actually bit an Agave Americana plant and poisoned himself.

In a video posted by Zhang, she captured herself trying to coax joy out of a bite of the spicy cactus, exclaiming, “It’s amazing.” But that pleasure turned into a numb feeling in her mouth and a burning sensation in her throat that felt like “fire” and she had to go to the hospital.

Zhang later told Motherboard that he felt a bitter taste after eating aloe vera when he went to the hospital with burns and ulcers in his mouth. There, his stomach was washed out and he is now stable.

According to IFL Science, the health benefits of aloe vera aren’t really that clear. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, “there is not enough evidence to prove that aloe vera is effective for most of the purposes people use it for.”

American agave is grown in Mexico and North America and is commonly used as an ornamental plant, although it is poisonous.

The incident comes after two “Bloggers” bloggers died for doing food experiments or a food challenge on the Tiktok site, which led to their immediate death during the recording.

These incidents are repeated as bloggers compete to gain more audience with the aim of increasing income from social entertainment sites.
