A harrowing story from Alabama, where a 12-year-old girl escaped from jail after being beaten and drugged for alcohol led authorities to a shocking discovery.
On Monday, two rotting bodies were found inside the house where he was confined. A 37-year-old man has been arrested on multiple charges.
The girl was handcuffed to her bed for about a week, given alcohol to suppress it, and the suspect physically assaulted her, according to court documents.
But the woman bit the handcuffs and managed to escape. That’s when she wandered into a rural area in east central Alabama.
A motorist eager to make a phone call to authorities led to the arrest of 37-year-old Jose Pascual Reyes on Tuesday, a day after his escape.
During the investigation, officers discovered two decomposing bodies in the suspect’s home. The first body identified was that of a woman named Sandra Vasquez Seha. Documents state Reyes strangled her with a pillow after abducting her.
The second body has not been identified by name, but CNN has learned that it belongs to a boy under the age of 14. He was allegedly beaten to death by Reyes, the documents said. Both bodies were cut into small pieces to hide the evidence.
Reyes now faces charges of premeditated murder and abuse of corpses, but the question is how do these victims relate to each other and to the suspect?
