The Chinese embassy in Berlin has called on the new German government to “build bridges over walls” in relations between the two countries.
“Some are paying more attention to the differences and differences in Sino-European and Sino-German relations,” the Chinese embassy wrote on its website.
“By forming a new German federal government, we are ready to communicate and promote our common interests on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit,” he added.
“We hope that German politicians will look at China and Sino-German relations objectively and in detail,” he added.
The statement concluded that in Sino-German relations, “we need to build bridges instead of walls.”
China’s call came after Germany’s next foreign minister, Annalena Barbok, said she wanted tough diplomacy in the face of dictatorial regimes such as China.
In an interview with TAZ this week, Barbach said of China, “Value-based foreign policy has always been an integrated step between dialogue and commitment.”
“For a long time, extreme silence has not been a form of diplomacy, even though some have seen it in recent years,” he added, pointing to the possibility of diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics in February. 2022.
Annalena Barbach supported the reduction of European imports from China if necessary.
