Before the first pre-orders for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro arrive tomorrow, third-party apps are helping to “cover up” the already controversial climax. This application, called TopNotch, comes from the developers of the popular CleanShot X screen capture tool for macOS.
The new MacBook Pro has a pinnacle that holds the camera and other sensors, allowing Apple to stretch the screen closer to the edge than ever before. To make the most of your content, Apple defended the pinnacle as a “really smart” design feature. Many early reviews suggest that climax is something you can easily get used to.
However, on the MacBook Pro screen, Notch appeared to be the software solution to the notch problem. It was advertised as a way to “make the notch disappear”, mainly by blackening the entire menu bar. This is similar to how Apple adds a black, black frame to the top of the screen when apps are in full screen mode.
