Pop star Britney Spears has said she will retire from social media to celebrate her engagement.
Last week, Spears, 39, announced her engagement to boyfriend Sam Askari.

Spears used his personal social media accounts to mobilize fans about his legal battle to end his father’s 13-year defense in his personal and financial life.
When concerns arose about his mental health in 2008, safety measures were imposed.
The singer posted a post on Instagram on Tuesday, according to several American sites, in which she told her fans: “I waited 13 years and counted the days for my freedom.”
Spears thanked the “Freedom for Britney” movement, a campaign launched by his fans to reduce his security.
His Instagram account was later deleted, after which the star confirmed his decision to retire on Twitter.

Spears has been documenting his daily life using his Instagram account, and in recent months he has become more vocal about the Defender War.
After he appeared in court last June, he used the social networking site to apologize to his fans for “pretending to be okay” when he was harassed by an “arbitrary” defender.
This is the star’s first official comment on the legal battle after his court testimony.
The court-ordered guardian gave Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, the power to control his daughter’s property and other matters in her life.
Spears stepped down as his daughter’s personal affairs custodian in 2019 due to health issues, and was replaced by long-term caregiver Jodi Montgomery.
But he was in charge of overseeing his daughter’s business arrangements.
Spears refused to sing under his administration.
However, Jamie Spears filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles court last week to end the conservatism. The trial is set to begin on September 29.
