The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is the world’s first mosque to receive the platinum rating for green buildings in the Hatta region – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (4th Edition) (LEED v4) reached 83 points from the US Green Building Council. The commission established the mosque, which houses more than 600 worshipers on an area of ​​1,050 square meters, according to the highest standards of environmental sustainability.

The mosque will have a 25-meter-high minaret, parking for cars and bicycles, facilities for committed people and a “green charger” station for electric cars. This mosque helps to rationalize about 26.5% of energy and 55% of water. Power used building materials made from recycled materials in the construction of the mosque and uses a highly efficient air purification system to provide a healthy, stable environment within the mosque. Work is underway to install photovoltaic solar panels to provide clean energy to the mosque, as well as to complete the water purification unit and reuse for irrigation, sanitation and other purposes.
