Sudan and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Ministry of Health have announced that Sudan has received 218,400 doses of astrogenogen vaccine against Covit-19 donated by France.

Two separate reports on Friday said that the vaccines were provided with the support of UNICEF at the initiative of the World Health Organization’s Kovacs, which aims at equal distribution of the Covit-19 vaccine.

Sudan received 820,000 initial doses of the corona virus vaccine, developed by AstraZeneca in March by the Kovacs initiative and UNICEF.

He also received 606,700 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine administered by the United States in August. China also provided synoform levels to prevent Govt-19.

On Friday, UNICEF said more than 800,000 people in Sudan, including health workers, had been vaccinated with the first shipment of Kovacs and other donations since March 2021.

Most of them received only a single dose, and the new vessel will contribute to the increase in the number of fully vaccinated.

“Vaccines have come at a critical time because the number of victims is increasing and the country is preparing to reopen schools after several interruptions,” the report said.

The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that it would launch a second vaccination campaign in some states after receiving the new vaccines.

Since the onset of the corona virus outbreak in March 2020, the ministry has reported 37,699 Govt-19 cases and 2,831 deaths as of August 26.
