At least 13 people have been killed in floods in Venezuela. Video – Arabs and the world – the world

Date:

The governor of Venezuela’s state of Merida said on Tuesday that floods had killed at least 13 people in the mountainous region of western Venezuela, causing landslides and rivers to overflow.

Pictures posted on social media showed the streets being washed away by cars, buildings and businesses littered with mud.

Governor Raman Guevara said 11 people had died in Dover municipality and two children in Antonio Pinto Salinas municipality.

“The situation we are in is very unfortunate,” Guevara commented to local newspapers posted on Twitter.

He added that the water reaching the transformers caused the power outage.

The flooded area is agricultural land that produces food for other parts of the country.
