More than 23 thousand martyrs.. Gaza health announced the new death toll news

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the Israeli occupation has risen to 23,357 martyrs, with 59,410 injured since the war began on October 7.

The ministry said 147 Palestinians had died in the past 24 hours – with ambulances and civil defense teams still unable to reach victims under the rubble.

The government media office in Gaza has announced that the number of martyrs in the Strip has risen to 115 since October 7, following the martyrdom of 3 journalists today in an Israeli bombardment.

The office also said in a statement that the three journalists were Ahmed Badir, Sherif Okasha and Heba al-Abdla.

Earlier today, the Israeli army bombed a residential house adjacent to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, killing and injuring 40 people, according to a government office.

Government offices and human rights organizations have stated more than once that the Israeli military – since the beginning of the war on Gaza – has been deliberately targeting Palestinian journalists to prevent them from reporting crimes in Gaza.

An Al Jazeera reporter reported that an Israeli bombardment of an ambulance on Salah al-Din Street in the central Gaza Strip killed six Palestinians, including paramedics. For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed the death of four of its staff members in the blast.

Medical condition

For his part, the director of the International Committee of the Red Cross told Al Jazeera that the situation in all hospitals in the Gaza Strip is very difficult, and medical supplies in the Strip are insufficient to provide relief to the injured. The sick and hospitals in northern Gaza can no longer provide any surgical services.

He further noted that it was the responsibility of the parties to the conflict to respect international humanitarian law and protect civilians, and continued to appeal to countries with influence over the parties to the conflict for diplomatic measures.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced today the suspension of the organization's mission to provide medical aid to Gaza due to security concerns.

After nearly 100 days of war, he said the situation in Gaza was indescribable and the delivery of humanitarian aid still faced insurmountable challenges.

He pointed out that nearly 90% of the population of the Gaza Strip has been displaced, many of them displaced multiple times.
