How is Eneos Grandeur made?
INEOS Automotive's Humpback plant uses robots to make production more efficient, something that has become the norm at modern manufacturing facilities such as the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where it makes the C-Class.
Robots are used in the welding process, which ensures fast turnaround time.
After the welding process, human labor plays a role in polishing the weld points and removing extra material.
Robots also perform the painting process when the body or vehicle is placed on the conveyor.
Robotic arms paint the body using a pre-configured conical spray nozzle to meet Ineos standards.
The worker then inspects the paint in a lighted room where the surface is polished using an electric brush.
The Eneos facility has a manipulator, a machine used to lift auto parts, resulting in a more favorable working environment for workers.
Another tool that helps the human crew is the electric tire lifter, which is used to attach the spare tire to the tailgate.
The video also shows the BMW Ineos Grenadier's 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine.
Besides the Grandeur, Enos last month unveiled the Grenadier Quartermaster pick-up truck at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will also be manufactured at its plant in Hambach.
Meanwhile, the electric 4×4 version is expected to be launched in early 2026.
