Closed Apple Inc Beeper Mini is an “iMessage for Android” app after its developer redesigned the “iMessage” feature to send messages from Android smartphones.

The app is back, but some users are unable to send messages again. Startup Pepper app has put iPhone users at risk of privacy and security issues.

Pepper said in the post.

Apple Bans Beeper Mini

Shortly after its launch, the app quickly rose to one of the top 20 apps on the Play Store charts, with over 100,000 downloads within the first 48 hours, beating Apple’s Paper Mini within a week of its release on the Play Store.

Apple said the app used fake credentials to access iMessage, leaving users unable to send or receive texts through the app.

“We strongly dispute the claim that Pepper Mini poses significant risks to user security and privacy,” the startup said.

The app received support from US Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts after it was reported that Apple had banned it.

“Green bubble texting is less secure, so why is Apple banning an app that allows Android users to chat with iPhone users? Big tech companies are crushing competitors to protect profits,” Warren said, calling for easier and safer cross-platform messaging.

Apple adopts the RCS system

The development comes shortly after Apple agreed to adopt the Rich Communications Standard (RCS) for iMessage, which means iPhones with the same features and security protocols won’t need another app to send messages, Apple said in a statement. It says “To be continued… We will make updates in the future to protect our users.
