World Health News: We have documented 427 attacks on health facilities in Palestine

The World Health Organization has documented 427 attacks by Israel on health facilities in the Gaza Strip and West Bank since the start of the war on October 7.

The organization explained that 203 of those attacks took place in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 560 deaths in Gaza and 6 in the West Bank, and 718 injuries in Gaza and 40 in the West Bank.

The United Nations has called for the protection of health facilities and civilians in Palestine.

The Israeli occupation intensified attacks targeting hospitals in the Gaza Strip. It also blew up some of its facilities before withdrawing from it on Friday to evacuate medical staff and patients. Last, about 10 days after the storm hit.

The occupation army besieged the Indonesian hospital and bombed it last Friday, just hours before a temporary humanitarian ceasefire came into effect, days before the attack.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced last month that all hospitals in northern Gaza were out of service due to Israeli bombardment and running out of fuel and medical supplies.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Director General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned of a health disaster in Gaza, adding, “The current living conditions and lack of sanitation in this area could cause diseases that kill a person. Pointing out that about 1.3 million people in Gaza are currently living in shelters, the director of the health organization said, “There is now an urgent need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza because this matter has become a matter of life and death. public.”

He explained that overcrowding, lack of food and water, basic sanitation needs, poor sanitation and waste management and difficulty in accessing medicines have led to tens of thousands of people suffering from various diseases including acute respiratory infections, scabies and diarrhoea. , skin rashes, jaundice and other health effects and diseases.

The Israeli occupation has imposed a blockade on Gaza since October 7, cutting off electricity and water from its residents and preventing the entry of food, medicine and fuel supplies.

However, a temporary humanitarian ceasefire that began on Friday, November 24, and has been extended twice, has allowed some relief, medical and fuel aid to enter the besieged sector, but many parties confirm that only a small portion of this aid is being received. People’s needs.
