Jamie Lynn Spears opened up about her relationship with older sister Britney when she spoke to TV host Fred Sirix on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here in the UK on Saturday.
The actress, 32, spoke about growing up with the pop star, adding: “I always thought that whatever my sister did, it was the best, and when it came to my sister, no matter what I felt, if someone said something, I was ready to defend her. I would say, “Don’t talk about my sister, she’s great.”
The host asked her, “Who got famous first?” Her reply was, “My sister is ten years older than me. I’ve been popular since I was six or seven.” Frankie Tettori later joined the conversation, asking Jamie Lynn: “Is it true you’re not dating Britney anymore?” She simply replied: “I love my sister.”
Britney and Jamie Lynn have worked together on several projects throughout most of their careers, including Britney’s first film, Crossroads and Joey 101. The two sisters clashed publicly over the publication of a memoir. Jamie Lynn, in January 2022.
Jamie Lynn told the magazine People Two months after Britney’s conservatorship ended: “I love my sister and I support her and I always will. It’s very clear that it’s a painful process and I have to respect the way she’s going through it. It’s a complicated situation. You get to a certain point where you can’t help someone. .” He doesn’t want you to do that.”
Meanwhile, in her memoir released in October, Britney opened up about her tumultuous relationship with her sister. “Jamie Lynn knew I was coming to her for help,” he said. “I felt she had to be on my side. When I fought the conservatorship and got a lot of press attention, she wrote a book in my favor. She was quick to publish slanderous stories about me, many of them… “painful and obscene.”
However, “she will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I’m working on feeling more compassion for her than anger toward her.”
