The Ministry of Health and Population, in conjunction with the onset of winter, revealed the details of the Ministry’s medicines to combat influenza waves, stressing that when winter begins, the activity of many viruses that cause respiratory infections increases.

The Ministry of Health and Population said that viruses that cause respiratory infections are often spread by droplets contaminated with the virus in the air, which is the result of coughing, sneezing or talking with a patient infected with the virus, some of which contain the virus. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghafar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said: “The most common viruses transmitted through saliva are rhinoviruses, influenza, emerging coronavirus, respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza virus, trophozoite virus and Epstein-Barr virus, respiratory viruses cause most of the symptoms affecting the patient. He continued: “The Ministry of Health and Population recommends influenza vaccination, good healthy nutrition, ventilation and regular cleaning of hands and surfaces, using tissues when sneezing and coughing.”
