The artist Mohamed Mounir decided to leave Germany in the last few hours and return to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to produce a new song for the benefit of the children of Gaza, expressing his solidarity with the Palestinian cause. Mounir was one of the first singers of his generation to sing for Jerusalem with a song titled “Jerusalem”, in which he collaborated with the poet Makti Naguib and the composer Hani Shenouda. It was supposed to be released in 1977, but the political circumstances at the time did not allow it, and it was signed, for the Egyptian and Israeli sides.
