Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Increase Halloween Costume Searches (Archive)

The search for Halloween costumes for couples like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is gaining interest after Swift attended two Kansas City Chiefs games.
An analysis of Google search results released Monday by Music Industry HowTo found that search requests for “Travis Kelsey outfit” and “Taylor Swift outfit” have increased 761 percent and 464 percent in the past seven days, respectively.
Searches spiked after Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears on September 24. Swift also attended the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game on October 1.
Halloween searches using the terms “Travis Kelsey Halloween costume” and “Taylor Swift Halloween costume” also rose 466 percent and 816 percent, respectively. The search terms “Kelsey and Taylor Swift dresses” and “Taylor and Travis dresses” rose 528 percent and 629 percent, respectively.
On the same day that Swift attended the Chiefs game for the first time, Google Trends reported a 277 percent increase in searches for “couples outfits.”
Last month, after Swift attended Kelsey’s team’s game against the Chicago Bears, her jersey sales became one of the top five sales on Sept. 24.
Swift is known to have an overall impact on the fashion industry, especially luxury brands. As of mid-August, Swift’s tour has generated $97.5 million in media influence, according to the website. WWD.
