US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed his disappointment with Beijing’s stance on the escalation of tensions between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli occupation.

Today, Monday, China’s Foreign Ministry condemned the targeting of civilians, and Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said his country “expresses deep concern over the continuing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and regrets the civilian deaths. Rejects and condemns actions targeting civilians.”
Mao stressed that China opposes anything that expands the scope of the conflict and threatens regional stability, and called for the international community to work to calm the situation. He said the way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is to resume peace talks and implement a two-state solution.
During a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday, Schumer called on China to stand with the Israeli people in what he called “difficult times” and condemned the attacks by Hamas. Described as brutal.
In a statement issued by its Foreign Ministry on Sunday, China called on all parties to exercise restraint, immediately cease fire, protect civilians and prevent further escalation of the situation.
In its statement, Beijing considered that “recurring clashes between Palestinians and Israelis are a sign that the long stalemate in the peace process may no longer last.”
He said the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was to implement a two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state.
China called on the international community to intensify efforts to resolve the conflict, resume peace talks between the two sides, and strive to achieve lasting peace, stressing its intention to make unremitting efforts with the international community to achieve this goal.
