The great Jordanian artist and playwright passed away some time ago Khalid al-TarifiThe funeral of the 68-year-old will take place on Friday from the Jordanian capital Amman.
Today, Jordanian Minister of Culture Haifa Al-Najjar mourned playwright Khaled Al-Tarifi, a Jordanian artist with an Arab reputation and great presence in hearts after artistic achievements and training generations on stage. His leadership in television work and in Jordanian and Arab theater is a prominent figure in theater groups and festivals for all who interacted with him and knew him intimately.
Artist Al-Tarifi, born in Zarqa in 1955, is a director and actor. He graduated from Baghdad University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in theater arts. He studied in Cairo from 1974 to 1977. Served in 1983. Teaching acting at Dar al-Fan and a part-time lecturer at the University of Jordan, he also supervised graduate programs for theater students at the University of Jordan.
He managed the Theater Space and Engineering Workshop at the Arab Theater Commission. He was a member of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate (Association) and a member of its executive committee, as well as a member of committees, organizations and institutions: the National Constituent Council for Culture and the Arts, the Supreme Advisory Board of the Jordanian Theater Festival. Artist Khaled Al-Tharifi has many television works, including: He participated in the main role in the series “Jean”, which aired at the end of 2013.
He has participated in local, Arab and international festivals, including: Jordanian Theater Festival (multiple sessions), Cairo Festival for Experimental Theatre, Carthage Theater Festival, Arab Gulf States Theater Festival, Baghdad Theater Festival, Jerash Festival, Amman Theater Days Festival, Mediterranean Countries Festival, Kuwait Theater Festival, Arab Children’s Theater Festival, Sharjah Festival, Fujairah Festival, Sixth Kuwait Theater Festival, Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater (2001), and Jordanian Theater Forum.
He won many awards: 1987 Best Technical Award at the Carthage Theater Festival, 1987 Best Director Award at the First Jordanian Theater Festival, 1991 Best Director Award at the Second Jordanian Theater Festival, 1992 Best Actor Award at the Second Jordanian Theater Festival. He was honored by the Ministry of Culture and the Syndicate. Jordanian artists participate in many events, festivals and theater seasons.
