The management of the Saudi Al-Nasr club has set a date for a meeting with the lawyer of the Senegal national team and Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane in Japan this week to confirm that the player will join the world ranks during the current summer mercado.
Last season’s Saudi Roshan League runners-up have proposed a 3-year deal to recruit Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich for around €30m this summer.
Sadio Mane has agreed to drop his annual salary from $100 million to $40 million to speed up the negotiation process and free him from the hassle of staying at Bayern Munich, according to Saudi Al-Riyadh newspaper.
The newspaper added, “Today, an important meeting will be held between Al-Nasr representatives and Sadio Mane’s lawyer to agree on the terms of the contract, which will extend until 2026.”
“Sadio Mane’s agent, Bjorn Bezimer, will take on the task of negotiating with the Bayern Munich management to buy out the remaining period on his contract,” the Saudi sports source continued.
The newspaper indicated that representatives of Al-Nasr club told Björn Bismar of the need to reduce the price of the player below 30 million euros.
Sadio Mane has two seasons left on his deal with the Bundesliga champions after signing a 3-year contract in the summer of 2022 after arriving from Liverpool.
Sadio Mane has more than one serious offer on his table this summer, the first from Portugal’s Benfica and the second from Italy’s Inter Milan, in addition to Saudi Al-Nasr’s offer, which is the highest in terms of buy-in value or annual salary.
Sadio Mane failed to make a distinctive mark with Bayern Munich last season, and after the Champions League quarter-final defeat to Manchester City, he developed a controversial issue with his team-mate Leroy Sane.
