Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held official talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday at the Royal Court in the Peace Palace in Jeddah.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish president said earlier on Monday that the purpose of his Gulf tour, which includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, is to focus on increasing mutual investments and improving trade exchanges with those countries.

Speaking about the purpose of the visit, Erdogan said in a press conference broadcast by the Turkish (Anatolia) news agency, “The visit has two goals: the investment file, and the financial file or the financial file, and our hopes are high, investment in those countries and here in Turkey will be the subject of discussion.”

Erdogan pointed out that “crises in the Islamic world necessitate close consultation and cooperation between Turkey and the Gulf countries.”

“The file on investments in defense industries and infrastructure will be discussed, and Turkey will have big investments in these three countries,” he stressed. Countries have gone from 1.6 billion to about 22 billion dollars in the last 20 years.”And we will discuss increasing that number,” (Anatolia) says.
