Report: Apple AR / VR headsets will have an external screen to show users’ facial expressions

getting ready Apple Inc Its annual developer conference, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023, is set to take place on June 5, at which the tech giant is expected to unveil its software-related improvements and new hardware like AR/VR headsets.

According to Bloomberg’s report, Mark Gurman said the upcoming headset could be one of Apple CEO Tim Cook’s biggest announcements, which Gurman said could also affect his legacy. Featuring an external display that can show users’ facial expressions, the rumored headset will run the new xrOS operating system and cost around $3,000.

Apple headphones may have an external screen

According to Gorman, Apple’s wearable mixed reality headset will have an external screen, and the external screen will help users stay connected to the real world as it displays their eye movements and facial expressions, and the report adds that Apple is considering this. A key differentiating feature from other closed VR headset models is that the external display will help users interact with a bot without feeling like they’re talking to a bot, according to the report.


Apple Reality Pro: What to Expect

Apple’s upcoming AR/VR headset is rumored to have a separate battery pack that is expected to be connected to the power cord. The headset can also act as an external display for the Mac, enabling users to join group video calls.

Apple is said to be working with developers and other entertainment companies to create content for the device once it’s official. However, Gurman also noted that the company’s long-awaited augmented reality (AR) glasses will be at least four years away.

The company is yet to share official details about the Reality Pro headset, but reports suggest that the upcoming product will be powered by an Apple M2 chipset and backed by 16GB of RAM.
