Abu Dhabi Ports has unveiled plans to expand Khalifa Port at a cost of Dh4 billion

Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced yesterday plans to implement further expansion of Khalifa Port, including dry dock services.

Under this expansion, Khalifa Port will be able to expand maritime, logistics and navigation services from handling containers and goods to include ship repair and maintenance services, the group said in a statement. Attracting new customers and prospects.

From this standpoint, Khalifa Port will be able to meet the growing demand for these services from its regional and global customers, he said.

The Khalifa Port Expansion Project includes the development of South Perth, Logistics Zone and Abu Dhabi Ports, with a total investment of four billion dirhams, contributing to the expansion of the port area from 2.43 to 8.63 square kilometers. The wall increased from 2.3 to 12.5 kilometers, and the port, thanks to this project, which includes 21 berths and has the necessary capabilities to provide customized services to key strategic sectors, is one of the most important deep-sea ports in the world. , with an estimated value of 20.4 billion dirhams.

The project provides an important addition to Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s efforts to increase the capacity of Khalifa Port to reach 15 million standard containers and 25 million tonnes of general cargo by 2030.

“The addition of dry dock services represents a strategic move aimed at further developing our competitiveness in the global market,” said Mohammed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.

He added, “We are delighted to add dry docks to our suite of services as this expansion reflects our continued commitment to meet the needs of our customers and provide them with the most appropriate logistics solutions to contribute to the success of their business. It will also contribute to cementing our competitive position as a global trading hub to achieve the vision of our brilliant leadership.
