Centers for Disease Control eases some requirements for corona vaccination for travelers to US.. How?

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still requires international visitors to the United States to be vaccinated against “Covid-19,” but it is easing vaccination requirements for travelers.

After August 16, 2022, international travelers on flights to the United States will be considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving a single dose of two mRNA vaccines, either Pfizer or Moderna. Time.

Updated travel advisories were posted on the agency’s website Thursday.

These changes are consistent with the CDC’s simplified vaccination guidelines for Americans, which assume that unvaccinated individuals should be fully vaccinated after receiving a single dose of the bivalent vaccine, which protects against more strains of the virus than the original vaccine.

Previously, foreigners arriving in the United States were considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving a second dose of a vaccine that requires two primary doses or two weeks after receiving a vaccine that requires only one dose, such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Many older monovalent vaccine regimens may qualify a foreign visitor for full vaccination. These include:

  • One dose of “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine or “Confidzia” vaccine made in China
  • Two doses of Novavax vaccine.
  • Two doses of “Comernati” vaccine from “Pfizer” and “BioNTech”.
  • Two doses of “Spikevax” vaccine from “Moderna”.
  • Two doses of the vaccine “Vaxziferia” from the company “AstraZeneca”.
  • Two doses of Covaxin, CovidShield, Sinopharm, CoronaVac, Nuvaxvoid or Covovax
  • Two doses of the experimental Medicago vaccine

Travel requirements do not apply to US citizens, permanent residents or immigrants.

Earlier this month, the Centers for Disease Control approved a plan to facilitate vaccination against Covid-19.

As part of the update, Covid-19 vaccines based on the old monovalent mRNA approach are no longer recommended in the US, and the updated vaccines are recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older.
