After the commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, Muhammad Hamdan Tagalo, nicknamed “Hemeti”, announced his willingness to negotiate with Sudanese military commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on the terms of a ceasefire, his political adviser returned and confirmed. That they are not “warmongers”.

Yusuf Essad, Hamiti’s political adviser, expressed that the RSF wanted a sustainable peace solution, stressing that they were an organized force, not a militia.

“Able to withstand years”

In an intervention with Al-Arabiya on Friday, he added that they are not supporters of war, explaining that they have a special committee to study various mediations.

He considered them to be protecting the will of the Sudanese people, stressing that they could withstand years of wars.

He said that we are supporting the army.

Essad also saw that al-Burhan was not managing the war and could not stop the fire, which Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Ahmad Ali Karti, along with Osama Abdullah, blamed for the continued fighting.

He asserted that the army commander had failed to enforce the ceasefire during the 5 ceasefires, insisting that the ceasefire was related to the army’s enforcement of it.

He pointed out that Hamiti’s speech about the ceasefire was a test of proof.

He also stressed that 90% of Khartoum State’s Rapid Support Forces are now fighting defensively.

She declares that the present war has been thrust upon her, and that she never intended to attack the army.

He announced his willingness to enter into negotiations with al-Burhan on the condition of an armistice, which he described as asking for a cessation of hostilities.

He insisted that talks would come after the ceasefire and that there was no discussion before that.

He continued, stressing that his forces did not initiate the war, explaining: “We did not fire the first shot, the country was closed and we were surprised that they started shooting at us. We first called for a fight. It was the day of the war and we started opening humanitarian corridors into the areas controlled by our forces. .

And he insisted that it was his duty to establish a viable civilian government in Sudan, as he had said.

Since fighting broke out between the army and the Rapid Support Forces on April 15, several cease-fires have been reached, but all have failed to hold and many have been halted by violations.
