Belgium striker Eden Hazard has confirmed he wants to stay with his current club Real Madrid, rejecting the possibility of a move away from the Royal club in next summer’s transfer window.
Hazard, who has been plagued by injuries since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, told RTBF on Monday: “I want to stay here. I’ve always dreamed of this club. I’m just waiting for one. The problem is to be on the field to prove my ability.” I want to play football again, even if people are skeptical about it.”
Hazard, 32, arrived at Real Madrid from Chelsea for €115m in June 2019 but has failed to establish himself due to a number of injuries. Although he has recovered, he has not played in La Liga since September 9.
The former French Lille player, whose contract with Real has been extended until next season, added, “There’s only one thing that will get me out of the spiral I’m in, and that’s playing (…). Without playing matches for months, I knew I wouldn’t score five goals in my first meeting.” Ya know. I need time, but we don’t really have time.”
The “Red Devils” striker, who announced the end of his international career with his country last December at the end of the Qatar World Cup, admitted that he doubts the “trust” of Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
He said, “With the coach, we don’t talk to each other, but respect each other. I see in training that I can do something. I feel physically better…”.
And he said, “I’m not asking to play 90 minutes, but only to feel useful…” He concluded, “Some (teammates) are asking me to leave after looking at my qualities. But this is not the case. It’s my wish. I have something more to offer (Madrid). I’m sure I can.” )”.
