The executive vice president of the Egyptian Space Agency indicated in exclusive reports for the seventh day that the center is fully ready to integrate the EgyptSAT 2 satellite, which will be launched in the last quarter of this year, in March 2023. 14 engineers were trained by the Chinese side.

The executive vice president of the Egyptian Space Agency said the two laboratories currently working at the center are the Vibration Laboratory, an environmental testing laboratory, and the “Payload” Space Camera Laboratory.

Last quarter, he asserted that the center would be ready to receive Egypt’s Sat-2 satellite, which would arrive in disassembled form and be assembled and tested in environmental tests, with the parts ready to be sent to China. its initiation.

He explained that the satellite is a joint project with China, fully funded by China, and its assembly and testing will begin in 2023, with an early launch. year.

China is not satisfied with this grant, so he indicated that it will use another grant to build a satellite called “Egypt Sat 2” which was launched on September 8, 2019 and will be completely designed and built in Egypt. and tested at the Satellite Assembly Center.

The entire design of this satellite will be carried out in Egypt and it will weigh 330 kg. Agriculture, urban planning, combating desertification, beaches and monitoring climate change.
