According to the Saudi newspaper, Al-Riyadiya, the international confederation has set unprecedented conditions for countries wishing to organize the Club World Cup, such as paying a $25 million (non-refundable) hosting application fee.

The newspaper insisted that confederations wishing to host the tournament must bear the costs of housing, transportation, and living for the participating teams, and in addition to FIFA’s commitment to provide four “5-star” hotels to host the teams, 9 training grounds, and television transmission requirements, two major stadiums to play the matches. The newspaper revealed that Saudi Al-Nasr Club intends to submit a request to host, which would mean returning to the competition after a 22-year absence, with the Asian Football Confederation having contested the first edition in 2000. Participate after winning the AFC Super Cup in 1998.

Another 7 teams participate in the tournament, 6 of which represent the continental federations, the seventh team represents the host country, but the president of the international federation, Gianni Infantino, proposed to try it with 24 participants in the 2021 edition. teams, but the circumstances left by the corona pandemic have postponed the implementation of the proposal, which has opened the door in front of the number of teams participating in the next edition.

Notably, Spain’s Real Madrid (European Champion), Morocco’s Wydad (African Champion), and American Seattle Sounders (CONCACAF Champion), three clubs have qualified for the next edition of the World Cup. The identity of the representatives of the South America, Asia and Oceania region has not been decided, in addition to the representative of the host country.
